Hi Matt! I thought you'd like to hear more complete news on the energy savings at my house since you completed the insulation and weatherization work.
From January through April 2008, oil consumption was 918.9 gallons; in the same period in 2009, it was 398.3 gallons. During that period in 2008, electricity consumption totaled 3451 kilowatt hours; in 2009, it was 2914.

Energy Evaluation in Compliance With the Efficiency Maine Weatherization Program: $400 for homes up to 2500 sq. ft.
Includes:
- Visual inspection of the building and complete evaluation and identification of the thermal envelope
- Diagnostic testing of the entire building using the blower door and infrared camera
- Identifying the major air leaks and bypasses in the home
- Health and safety assessment to identify possible hazards
- Comprehensive testing of all combustion appliances
- Heating system inspection, evaluation, and efficiency test
- Entering your home in the certified modeling software
- A detailed report summary of our findings
- A work proposal with savings potential for each item

Includes:
- Everything from the Energy Evaluation in Compliance With the Efficiency
- Maine Weatherization Program
- A more detailed report of our finding (typically for homeowners who are unable to be at the evaluation)
Diagnostic Testing and Consulting to Evaluate Specific Concerns or Problems:
Typical problems or concerns include:
- Ice dams
